Employees want financial education

When employees undergo stress, it impacts how they perform in the workplace. A new survey from the Employee Financial Education Division (EFED)—a provider of flexible personal finance courses for employees—has found that 60% of employees experience stress about their current financial situation.

“Employers need to be concerned with the financial wellness of their employees as it directly impacts the productivity and profitability of the company,” says Frank Wiginton, CEO of EFED.

Eighty-seven percent of employees surveyed said they wanted more personal finance education.

“Financial education, not just information, proves to be an important and effective benefit for employees. By including financial topics beyond pensions and retirement, employees will be able to have greater understanding and context around their finances,” he says.
