New president of Sun Life’s U.S. business named

Dr. Dan Fishbein, M.D., will become the new president of Sun Life Financial’s U.S. business in April.

He replaces Wes Thompson, who will be retiring from the company.

Fishbein will join Sun Life on March 17, 2014, and will take on the new role upon Thompson’s retirement from the company on April 1, 2014.

Fishbein is a 25-year veteran in the employee benefits and group life insurance industries. He joins Sun Life from Aetna, where he most recently served as president, specialty businesses, with U.S.-wide responsibility for several industry-leading group benefits and voluntary businesses, including the company’s group life insurance business.
